Abstract
In his thought about hermeneutics, St. Thomas Aquinas expounds the theory of the four senses, but he does not give it any importance. He rather makes use of the Augustinian opposition between res and voces and considers the literal exposition in all its aspects, including the theological analysis. In his exegetical praxis, the allegory is rarely present, and does not appear in some commentaries.
